Crusty Skin Patches? You May Have Actinic Keratosis


Do you have crusty, rough patches of skin that measure an inch or less in diameter? These patches may be flat or slightly raised, and the surface may feel hard and wart like. Though there are many possible causes of dry, rough skin patches, one distinct possibility is that you're suffering from a condition known as actinic keratosis. Since this condition can develop into cancer if left untreated, it's important that you seek diagnosis and treatment from a dermatologist.


Is Your Itching Mole Cancerous?


A mole, or nevus, is a skin growth that appears darker than the natural tone of your skin. These growths are either brown or black, and they’re often raised above the skin. Almost everyone has at least one mole, and you might find as many as 40 on your skin. Most of your moles appear by the time you reach 25, and for the most part, they’re benign or noncancerous.
